29 Mar Why I love wheatgrass
Wheatgrass is one of my favourite super foods; it has a much milder taste than some of the other green powders so it is a good one to get started on. It is high in A, C and B vitamins as well as being a great source of calcium, iron, magnesium and zinc. Vitamin A is especially good for skin and wheatgrass can also help slow ageing and reverse wrinkles. It is a great support to your immune system and is known to boost energy and mood. As well as being very alkalising it also aids digestion.
Other amazing benefits include; helping detox the liver, removing heavy metals from the body and it can even help with bad breath. It is high in fibre so it is great added to a green juice.
Here is the recipe for my favourite smoothie bowl at the moment;
• ½ frozen banana
• ½ avocado
• ¼ cup blueberries
• ¼ cup frozen pineapple
• 2 teaspoons wheatgrass powder
• 1 tablespoon coconut oil
• ½ cup almond milk (1 cup if you are making a smoothie and want it thinner)
