How to beat those cravings!

Cravings, we all have them!  Here are my top tips for beating them…

1. Eat protein for breakfast

By fuelling your body with protein you are giving it slow releasing energy to get you through your day. Try Porridge with almond butter on top with nuts, or eggs and avocado with brown whole grain toast.

2. Take 3 minutes

Instead of just reaching and grabbing the first thing you see, take some time to think whether you actually really need it. Walk around the office, get some water, go and have a chat with someone, get out the house, do some housework (if its that bad). By taking your mind off it, you might realise you didn’t want it in the first place.

3. Be prepared

In the office it is always someone’s birthday, someone is bringing in cookies, or chocolates from holiday, be prepared for this and have some healthy snacks in your top drawer!

4. If you don’t buy it you won’t eat it!

That last minute chocolate bar you buy in the supermarket will be the thing that trips you up. Don’t buy it, grab a NAK’D bar, some nuts, or some fruit.

5. Drink water

A lot of the time when we think we are hungry we are actually thirsty. Try and make a real effort to drink more water throughout the day.
