Happy Valentine’s Day

Whether you love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day has arrived. I have chosen to celebrate this year by making a new nutritious and energising pink smoothie!

The secret ingredient is beetroot! Not only is this delicious vegetable in season at the moment in the UK, but it is also packed full of goodness to keep you healthy on the inside and out.

Beetroot contains zinc and copper which are both vital for healthy skin and it is packed full of iron which helps fight fatigue. Eating beetroot regularly helps cleanse the liver and it’s also loaded full of vitamins A and C.

What’s more, beetroot is great for boosting stamina making this a good smoothie to have before the gym.



2 small raw beets – give them a good scrub or you could peel them

2/3 cup of mixed frozen berries

1/4 avocado

1/2 frozen banana

Cover with almond milk or a dairy free alternative



Simply blend it all together and enjoy!
